2021 Forum

This edition brought a great momentum for and thanks to our key partners and coalition members: City of Biarritz, Nouvelle Aquitaine Region, CAPB Agglo Pays Basque, Loliware, Michelin Movin On, Bluenove, La French Tech Pays Basque, Pragma Industries, Aqualines, Steinberg Protocol, Love is Blue/ Water Family, the Ocean & Climate Platform, ESTIA, Basque Invest, Ocean 52 and many more.

We have been pleased and honored with the visit of the Santa-Cruz, CA delegation and its Mayor Donna Meyers, welcomed by our Mayor Maider Arosteguy to set up a Sister Cities Program including a collaboration on coastal adaptation.

• 214 registered participants.

• 19 countries represented including 12 on-site from Spain to the USA, Germany, Lebanon, France, the UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, etc.

• 32 volunteers involved.

• 34 startups represented, 6 multinationals, 4 ports, 8 academic centers, 14 NGOs, 7 public sector/government organizations.

• 41 collaborative ‘Waves sessions’.

• A giant ‘Ocean 2050’ prospective workshop aka Bright Mirror by Bluenove.

• 3 ecosystem off-sites visits.

• More than 180 productive connections.

• A memorable opening with the official announcement of the Sister Cities Program between Santa-Cruz and Biarritz by Mayor Donna Meyers and Mayor Maider Arosteguy.

• As well as happy hours, remote working, surf sessions, morning routines, a beach cleanup as part of the City of Biarritz’s first Eco-Citizens Meetup, and more!
